Domestic rubber pet toys secure a million-euro order from the EU, passing stringent EU pet safety certifications

October.10,2026

In July 2026, two pet supply companies in Dongguan, Guangdong, received a cross-border order from the EU for one million rubber dental toys. The entire batch of toys passed the stringent dual safety certifications of EN71 and REACH for EU pet products, enabling them to be sold in supermarkets across the 27 EU countries. This marks the comprehensive recognition of the quality of domestic rubber pet toys by mainstream markets in Europe and America.

The EU enforces stringent regulations on rubber pet toys, prohibiting the presence of nitrosamines and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in rubber products, with far stricter migration limits for heavy metals than domestic standards. Two factories in Dongguan have upgraded their rubber injection molding workshops to be dust-free, using exclusively imported natural latex from Thailand. They have established a fully enclosed production system to prevent impurities from entering the process, and every batch of rubber toys undergoes dual testing by third-party agencies for heavy metals and tear resistance before leaving the factory.

The orders primarily consist of antibacterial rubber chew toys and durable rubber sticks for large dogs, shipped to countries such as Germany, France, and the Netherlands. The foreign trade manager noted that over the past two years, overseas buyers have significantly reduced orders for domestic toys in Europe and America, shifting their focus to rubber toys manufactured in China. The key reasons are that domestic factories possess triple advantages in quality, production capacity, and cost, along with the ability to quickly adapt toy designs to overseas market trends. Data from the Dongguan Municipal Bureau of Commerce shows that the export value of rubber pet toys in the first half of this year increased by 26.7% year-on-year, making rubber pet products a new highlight in foreign trade.
